The effect of threonine deficiency on the synthesis of some phosphorus fractions in the rat.

چکیده
Rats on diets containing suboptimal amounts of threonine or lysine have been observed to develop fatty livers, which could be controlled by adequate dietary levels of these amino acids (2). Choline was also lipotropic, but only at high levels, at which its activity was still limited in extent. The liver lipide pattern in these amino acid deficiencies was found to be suggestive of that observed in typical choline deficiency in rats on high fat, low protein rations. The lipotropic action of choline in the latter circumstance has been explained by an increased phospholipide turnover in the liver (3). It was, therefore, of interest to study the rate of incorporation of radiophosphorus into the phospholipide and the protein-bound phosphorus fractions of liver, small intestine, and kidney of threonineor lysine-deficient rats in order to elucidate the relationship between these amino acids and choline. The results of the threonine deficiency study are presented here.

The aim of this study was to survey the effect of different dietary fiber source and thereonine levels on growth response, nutrients digestibility and some digesta characteristics of broiler chickens. A total of 180 day-old male Ross 308 chicks were used in a completely randomized design with a factorial arrangement of 2×3 with 4 replicates of 6 birds each for a period of 24 days. The diets co...

Phosphorus behavior in waterlogged soils is significantly different from non-waterlogged soils. Changes in available phosphorus and inorganic phosphorus fractions after waterlogging in the paddy soils of north of Iran were studied in a laboratory research. A factorial experiment in a completely randomized design with two replications was performed with factors of soil at 14 levels (10 alkaline-...

Appropriate management of soil phosphorus (P) fertility in highly calcareous soils of Iran as around the world should rely upon sound knowledge about the phosphorus reserve and its bioavailability. Despite numerous reports on the positive effects of vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae (VAM) fungi on phosphorus uptake which is associated to Ectomycorrhiza as a branch of two major branches of group ...
